Hello and welcome to another music newsletter :-)

Those who know me know, I've been a music junkie since I'm a teenager (in the pre-internet era). Both as a listener and live music gigs. 

Early 2022, I realized that most of my music consumption has come through Spotify for the last 5 years. 

I've been listening to music fed via an algorithm and the magic of their automated suggestion. Hence I fell in a loop of listening to the same pool of bands repeatedly.

Hence, one of my resolutions for this new year is to change my habit of listening to music. I'd like to move back to a routine of more active listening and digging for new music regularly. A practice I lost since I stopped writing for french musical websites in the past decades. 

I started this newsletter as an effort to capture and document my effort of pushing myself to broaden my musical horizon and keep my friends accountable for it

Since then, I sent an email with 5 new songs (and new bands) every week and had a lot of fun doing that. The feedback has been ecstatic. So I’m continuing in 2023.
